Stair Climbing
Ok, I've been letting my body go, for TOO LONG.
I've put on 5kg since October 2010, and went from 62kg (I've got big bones hor), waist 28", size S for tops, S/M for dresses, to 67kg now, waist 30", size M for tops and M/L for dresses.
62kg doesnt sound too thin but even at 59kg- the lightest I've been in all my adult life, my waist line was 27" and looking back at old photographs, I loved the way I looked. Some even commented that I was getting too skinny (!) then, but yes, 62kg is good enough for me.
To prove my point, this was what I looked like over the years/ months:
2008- at Slimer & Ah Kai's ROM:
2009 Nov- birthday lunch with the girls:
2010 Jun- in London:
Ok, Im starting to get fat NOW.
2010 Nov:
Dec 2010:
Jan 2011:
April 2011:
See what I mean? Gosh looking at these photos makes me depressed!
Looking bad is one thing. I mean, Im not damn chio la, even when I was a bit thinner. But I can look better, why settle for this now? The worst thing is, I feel so lazy and lethargic ALL the time, not to mention I feel lousy feeling fat and not being able to fit in my pretty dresses anymore!! And yes, it does NOT help that Jason is 1.8m and 64.5kg and eats 3-4 portions per meal and stays his size. I am so going to have to lose weight.. for myself. I am not afraid to tell you all that I now weigh this much and am going to get the weight OFF!
Exercise is it. The thought of running makes me wanna go back to my bed and sleep, although knowing my body very well, I know that once I start exercising, the weight comes off fast, I tend to be more disciplined in what I eat and in maintaining my weight, and thats where the momentum is kept up. With this body weight, I shudder at the thought of going running in my tight shorts. So I am going to do this first: Stair-Climb.
Why Stair-Climb?
Stair climbing may be the fastest and most convenient way to get an excellent aerobic workout, no matter what your fitness level. No excuses for having to travel to the gym or run outdoors. No need to feel shy when exercising! No one is gonna see me in my tight shorts!!
Stair climbing also increases cardiovascular fitness as well as muscular endurance and strength. Stepping up on a stair is great work for the leg muscles and butt muscles. It’s more work than running because each step requires the lifting up of the entire body’s weight through the height of the stair, using just one leg.
It also gives me the "illusion" that Im doing less work then running, and doesnt give me a chance to form pre-conceived ideas that Im gonna tire out and die with "all the exercise". In short, stair-climbing takes more work than assumed. Im cheating my brain in a good way.
Good night world, weight loss starts tomorrow morning!!

Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush Wet/ Dry Eyeshadow
I never got around to blogging about these so here goes!
Nic bought me make up- yes she knows what I love- during her trip to the US last year and these eyeshadows from VS have not left my make-up pouch since!
From left: Glamerald, Gold Rush
She got me four colours- Glamerald (jade green as above), Plum Crazy (deep rich purple), Smokin' (glittery grey) and Fade to Black (glittery intense black). The soft pearl shadow delivers buildable color with subtle shimmer. The best thing? These are be applied dry, or wet, for added intensity. No guesses for what I always choose to do.
Smokin':
I use Smokin' and Fade to Black AS AN EYELINER almost daily, wet, applied with an angled, slanted tip, liner brush. Something like this:
The brush doesnt have to be from big brands like MAC. I have one by MAC, one from The Body Shop, one from Sephora and another from SASA. The one that works the best? The Body Shop, anytime. I am absolutely in love with their brushes! Big brush for loose powder, a medium sized one for blusher, a round tip one for regular eyeshadow, a slanted angled tip for wet eyeliner.. I have them all from The Body Shop. A post on that later.
The liner brush has short bristles that are cut on a slant, and somewhat flat. This provides a clean thin line to the area applied. To use, I wet it with tap water, then dip it into my choice of eyeshadow, then draw, draw, draw in a straight line, working from the inner corner of the eye to the outer corner. Wet it somemore if you need, then dip it back to the eyeshadow pan to pick up more colour, and then draw again. This gives me super results everytime!
Being an eyeshadow, the definition isnt so harsh, but with incredible ingredients, the pigmentation is as comparable, if not better, than any good quality eyeliner. Drawing your eyeliner on with an angled brush gives you more control as compared to using an eyeliner pen. I have my favourite eyeliner pens though, I love eyeliners! Then again, a post on that later. :)
I am contemplating their new baked eyeshadow (PUPA also has excellent baked eyeshadows):
Ultimate adrenalin RUSH, I tell you. For those not in the know, I palpitate when I see make up.
Time to pay the Victoria's Secret store a visit, I think!

My new LOVE, Don.
I've fallen in love recently, yes again.
Ah mm and 88 absolutely love him too!
Presenting....... DON!
Yes!! DON Chicken Pie has opened an outlet at Vivocity basement, just outside Kopitiam. Whole pies are flying off the shelves! Choices include: Traditional Chicken Pie, Kids' Chicken Pie (Non-Spicy), Black Pepper Chicken Pie, Chicken Shepherd's Pie and Vegetable Pie (without chicken).
I got the Traditional Chicken Pie ($19 for a whole pie). Here's how it looks like out of the box:
Thick, fluffy and flaky!
Im drooling as I type this! I didnt take a pic of the inside because I was too busy eating.. hehe!!
Even Ah mm, an excellent cook by anyone's standards, loved it! This is actually our second pie in two weeks.. the first time, I bought the black pepper version ($21). It was the last one on the shelf when I was there at 8pm!
88 said she actually prefers the traditional one because although it is more spicy (!) than the black pepper, the traditional version has more ooomph and the chicken more flavourful and better marinated.
They deliver at selected areas as well.
Visit them at http://www.donpieclub.com.sg/
NO they are not paying me to do this!! I just love incredibly yummy chicken pies!

Woo hoo!!
Three months! I've been so busy and bogged down by work the past months into my new role, I was in constant mood swings (poor cute kid) but Im glad to report that I am fine and happy now!
Three things were always on my mind: 1. House problem 2.WORK 3. Holiday
How to be stressed over my HOLIDAY? You definitely can be, when you have tickets to Frankfurt BUT that's the only thing you have booked, and your HOLIDAY is a month away. The girls and I have been too busy to do anything else since Topdeck cancelled on us, but Im glad that Hui found Thomas (no, not her new flame), but Thomas from ToEurope, who is planning our trip for us (accommodation, train tickets and reservations). We were taking a chance when we emailed him for SOS, and were pleasantly surprised when he responded the next day and called me from Germany to find out our travelling needs (AND woes), and has been in constant contact over emails and phone in the past 2 weeks. We dont know how to say thank you, but err, "THANK YOU Lifesaver!!"
Their website address is http://www.toeurope.eu/
Visit them when you have an idea that you're going to Europe, but dont want to join conventional tours because thats just restrictive. Recommended for independent travellers who want to get logictics out of the way. Yes, thats exactly how I would describe them. Go to their website and the words and pictures scream Magic and Medieval, and you know how Im a sucker for these things. You can choose from the packages that they have, like the examples below, or add on, delete, and customise your tour, which was exactly what we did.
We chose this one:
We're going on the ROMANTIC ROAD southbound trip and CUSTOMISING it with trips to Regensburg, Prague, Salzburg and Vienna!!
How does it work? Look through the tour packages and decide which one you want. There are so many options ranging from three to ten days (of course you can add on as you wish!), so many destinations that take you from London, Paris, Rome, or to Switzerland, Rhine Valley, Frankfurt, Munich..
We were hesitant at first because we're going to be having them charge our cards and they're so far away, and so we clicked on the "Contact" button, half hoping that they wont even reply and we can do the safe thing by booking our own accommodation + Eurail tickets ourselves. So troublesome, but safer.
And so this was our first step!
Almost immediately we got an interim reply from Sylvia, who informed us that Thomas will get back to us on Monday.
And on Monday, he CALLED from Germany and asked more about our needs and expectations, and how we would like our trip to be because we're doing quite a lot of add ons. He even guided us in planning our itinerary instead of being accommodating all the time, and asked if we would take his suggestion, he would think it is nicer if we take another route or visit another place first.
And as of 11 May, we're going to have our train tickets and destinations all booked! In a matter of 10 days since our first enquiry email!
We are going on our holiday!! I'll be updating our destinations soon!!

Busy
Its been more than a month since my update.
Damsie is lost and screaming for an update by COB.
Ok. But wtf is COB?
Err. Update.
Work and Love I guess.
Applied for a position, went for interview, clinched it. Boss is now no longer with the team and I am reporting to another Boss. BUT Boss will always be Boss. 5star went off to do something else in our other office in Changi. I cried like madness. 2011, without these two men. Too much to swallow. And just last week, when I was first week into the new role, and I thought of Boss and 5star, and how I am alone now carrying this team, I cried so hard, Jason could only let me. At least now for the next two months, I will be in the same office as them both since I am reporting at Changi til end March. Im treasuring these moments. Never mind that the cab fare at night cost me $30 per trip.
And yes, we finally got together. :)
He is the absolute cutest thing in the whole universe. I am happy that I said yes.
I love him for the silly things that he does/ says/ blurts out.. and I love him for the way my heart skips a beat whenever I accidentally think about him.
I am touched that my besties seem to be as happy as I am, that I am in a new relationship with this guy whom they know, and I know, will be taking care of me.
Come on MSN la Damsie, I will answer all your interview questions.
I just hope reservist ends now!
